Who we are

The Centro de Investigación en Ciencia Aplicada y Tecnología Avanzada (IPN-CICATA Querétaro) is part of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and is located in Querétaro, Mexico. Our mission is to connect the scientific community with the productive sectors and provide innovative solutions to development challenges.
We carry out interdisciplinary research while training highly skilled professionals, helping to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of Mexico’s economy at both national and international levels. |

Our research focuses on five areas:
Supported by IPN, CONACYT, and industry partners, our projects have led to patents, prototypes, utility models, and other technological developments that benefit the region and the country.
We offer Master’s and Doctoral programs, part of CONACYT’s National Quality Postgraduate Program (PNPC) since 2007, currently with Consolidated status. We also offer a Specialization program and three industry-focused program options.
Since 2003, 413 students have graduated from our programs, including 115 Doctorates, 284 Master’s, 12 Specializations, and 2 Doctorates in Energy (network program). Current enrollment for semester B25 is 221 students.
Our students come from all over Mexico and from other countries, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, and Spain. |
