About the Program

The Specialty in Advanced Technology (ETA) at the IPN–CICATA Querétaro Unit is designed to bridge scientific knowledge and industrial innovation. This program integrates research, technological development, and collaboration with public, social, and private sectors to drive meaningful impact at both regional and national levels.

Established under Gaceta Politécnica No. 613 (June 30, 2005), the IPN–CICATA Querétaro Unit was created to promote a strong connection between scientific activity and the needs of the productive sector. Within this framework, the Graduate Program in Advanced Technology (PTA) emerged as a strategic opportunity to strengthen the link between academic research and industrial application.

The ETA program stands at the intersection of teaching and industry collaboration, providing students with the tools to:

• Contextualize productive activities from a technological perspective.

• Identify potential for technology assimilation in processes or products.

• Detect new market opportunities for specific technologies.

• Participate in innovation processes that promote technology transfer to industry.

The program also serves as both an academic foundation for the Master’s and Doctorate in Advanced Technology and as a pathway for applying graduate research results to industrial contexts.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

General Objective

To train postgraduate professionals with strong scientific and technical competencies who can lead innovation, technological development, and collaboration initiatives.

Specific Goals

Graduates of the ETA program will be able to:

• Identify and analyze the technological needs of the industrial sector.

• Design and implement technically sound, economically viable solutions.

• Apply and transfer knowledge effectively to contribute to Mexico’s economic and industrial development.

In addition, graduates will be prepared to join research teams or pursue academic careers in higher education and research institutions, equipped to respond to the growing demand for innovation and applied technology.
